Expert Medial Writer, Lay Language & New Media Cornelia leads the Informed Consent activities of the Lay Language & New Media medical writing team at Boehringer Ingelheim. She loves turning dense scientific ideas in clear, engaging language refining the methods that help others to do so. She holds the Plain Language Certificate from Simon Fraser University.
Her path into plain language began when she designed a digital platform to share lay summaries of study results with the public. Before that, she had created templates for lay summaries and written regulatory documents across all phases and therapeutic areas for many years.
At heart, Cornelia is a researcher. A biochemist with a PhD in endothelial cell biology, she spent more than a decade leading projects and laboratories in academia, biotech, and the pharmaceutical industry. She remains inspired to see early discoveries in targets, drugs, and biomarkers progress into clinical development.”
