Description

This workshop is intended for medical writers who are considering a transition into people management, are new to a line management role, or are navigating how to balance managing others while remaining actively involved in writing projects. It is suitable for writers in regulatory, scientific, or related medical writing roles who want a clearer understanding of what people management entails before pursuing it, or who are in the early stages of leading others.
No previous management training is required. Prior experience as a medical writer is expected.
As medical writers advance in their careers, many step into people management roles without formal preparation for the relational and leadership challenges involved. This workshop aims to address this gap by focusing on the transition from individual contributor to manager, with particular emphasis on balancing new responsibilities and relationships.
Participants will learn to identify common challenges during the transition to management, be exposed to practical strategies for managing people, and explore career growth paths and support systems to help make the leap into a leadership role.
