This standalone workshop is designed for all medical writers who have dealings with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) as part of their job. KOLs are an integral element of medical publications and presentations yet there is little information on who they are and how they should be managed. This workshop examines the different types of KOLs in medicine, the considerations behind using KOLs as well as strategies to interact with them. As an interactive workshop, participants are requested to share their own experiences with KOLs (if any) during the workshop. Please also bring your computer to the workshop.
Objective
By the end of this workshop participants will be aware of the main types of KOLs in medicine, the advantages and disadvantages of working with them, as well as learning relevant strategies to interact with KOLs.
