Retracted: Writing the safety section of the clinical study report with immutable tables: A technology for increased efficiency and quality

Authors: Kishor Patil, Geetanjali Chimote

Retraction notice:
This article, published in Volume 34, Number 4, of Medical Writing in December 2025, has been retracted at the request of the authors and with the agreement of the Editor-in-Chief.

After publication, a dispute was raised concerning the authorship of the article. It was acknowledged that individuals who were part of the development of the concept and methodology for immutable tables described in the work were not included as authors and had not been given the opportunity to take part in the drafting, review, or approval of the manuscript. The authorship of the article could not be resolved between the parties, and the author list could not be corrected in a manner consistent with the authorship criteria of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE). In these circumstances, the authors and the Editor-in-Chief agreed that retraction was the appropriate course, in line with the guidance of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

This retraction is made solely because of the unresolved authorship dispute. It is not based on and should not be taken to imply any finding of research misconduct on the part of any individual. No concerns have been raised about the reliability or validity of the scientific content, analyses, or conclusions of the article.

Both listed authors agree to this retraction. The other parties to the authorship dispute have also been informed.
