DDF4b An Introduction to Informed Consent forms
Who it is for
This workshop is aimed at all medical writers who would like to develop their skills and awareness when writing information for patients.
What it covers
This workshop will start with a discussion about the consent process for clinical trials, including real-life examples. Detail will be provided on the suggested content of patient information leaflets, covering current global regulatory guidance and sources of supporting information. Important considerations when writing for clinical trial participants will be highlighted. Workshop exercises will be used to practice modifying typical source information into a format suitable for inclusion in a patient information leaflet.
Stephen started working as a Medical Writer in 2012, after completing a PhD in Chemistry at the University of Southampton. His first role comprised a mixture of medical affairs and publications work within a Medical Communications Agency. He later switched to regulatory writing within a large Contract Research Organization. In his current role, as a Principal Medical Writer at Effective Medical, Stephen writes and reviews a broad range of regulatory documents, including informed consent materials, covering a variety of indications and trial phases.
